個展「あなたは誰？－鏡面－」（ギャラリー懐美館、東京、2022）での展示/ the photo at the solo exhibition “Who are you? –Mirror Surface–”(Gallery Natumikan, Tokyo, 2022)
言語で記憶されることと、存在の形成についての作品。
「言語によって語彙や文法が違うから思考が変わる」とよく聞く。と同時に、言語はマジョリティによって整備されていくので、「マイノリティの経験を伝える言葉・文章・語りかたがない」とも言われる。
この作品は、過去に使用していたMiyabi自身のノートからランダムに言葉や文章を抽出し、そこから現在、どう思考したかのイメージを、円盤状の支持体に描き起こしたものである。
This is the work about being remembered in language and the formation of being.
We often hear, “Different languages have different vocabulary and grammar, which changes our way of thinking.” At the same time, since the language is maintained by the majority, it is said that “there are no words, sentences or ways of speaking that convey the minority experience.”
In this work, Miyabi randomly extracted words and phrases from his own notebooks that he used in the past, thought about how he thinks in the present based on these phrases, and drew the images on a disc-shaped support. The “あ” is the hiragana that I imagined from that random sentence.
